Celeste Song is a London-based oil painter and illustrator. She holds an MA in Illustration from the University of Brighton, and her years of experience in illustration have significantly shaped her approach to oil painting.

Her practice focuses on figurative oil painting, where she combines a strong command of form, colour, and brushwork with a careful refinement of emotional tension, gradually developing a distinct visual language.

The figures in her work are often depicted without visible faces, allowing emotion to emerge through body language and atmospheric use of color. Rich, layered colour compositions act as a projection of the subject's inner world.

Her work primarily explores a first-person perspective as a young East Asian woman in Western society, observing how the younger generation navigates atomised social structures and the impact of shifting cultural forces on human connection and self-identity.

"On my back there is a map, five continents, four oceans, and the traces of where you once existed. Wherever 1 go, I carry it with me. Over time, the map keeps discovering new lands. But you remain where you were, in the place where I last saw you. I know that outside this map, in the wider world, you move freely. It seems the only one trapped within this small territory is me. I keep wondering how the body remembers a person, remembering the warmth of someone's skin, the closeness of their breath, remembering what once felt like a true connection."
